Ugly Ducklings and Swans – a tale of transformations
29th of june. Misty roads through towering hills give way to Lakeland splendour. Pretty patches partial sunlight flicker fetchingly of the waiting water. Scouts and leaders tumble trepidously tiptoe to the waters edge, wondering when. Soon boats unloaded wetsuits wrestled with wicked intent. All are divided, designated, briefed then despatched by Kayak, Canadian, Dingy, Sailboard. Away, across, around sometimes in circles then back. A quick drink a bite of lunch then swap out back swap again. Canadians all up the creak under the bridge upto the weir floaters in the water. Boys and Girls listen with toothy grins as they turn into the fast running white water and shoot in seconds back through what took many minutes to climb.
Did you miss this this time make sure you do not the next.
