St George’s Day Parade 27th Apr
Please note the following changes to Sundays arrangements
Some of you may be aware of the cancellation of this Sundays parade from the local media. This was a difficult decision for the district to take. The decision to cancel the St George’s Day Parade was done based on the safety of both our young people and adult volunteers. At no point will The Scout Association allow the safety of it’s members to be put at risk and we do everything we can to ensure that our members are operating in a safe environment.
We were informed earlier in the week about the cancellation and since then, Lancashire Constabulary have contacted Clitheroe Scouts to offer their support once again for the St George’s Day Parade this year. They have also offered their support for future events. However, the St George’s Day Parade will remain cancelled for this year due to the safety concerns and time constraints that we now have.
There will however be a celebration of achievement at St Mary’s, due to our own personal commitments and camp preparations, unfortunately we have limited leadership cover.
We hope that you understand, however if you wish to attend the event please feel free to do so, obviously with the appropriate parental support and permission. The event will be held at St Mary’s Church St at 2pm please be seated at 1.45.
