Clitheroe District are holding a ‘Chill & Challenge’ camp at Bowley Scout Camp

IMPORTANT

Unfortunately the weather forecast is poor for the weekend, hopefully it will be wrong.

Please ensure that you come with appropriate clothing and footwear for wet conditions. Plus spare clothes, which should be packed inside rucksack inside a plastic bag, please bring spare bags to keep dry clothing separate from wet.

We are under canvas NOT in the lodge.

If the weather is bad on Sunday we may finish camp earlier, potentially from around 1330.

TIMINGS
Cubs and Scouts please meet at Bowley in the Main Car Park, Friday 10th between 7pm and 7:30, you will be directed to the Camping field (Bowley Field – lower field on RHS). Please note no cars will be allowed down to the camping area
Please eat prior to attending camp, we will do a snack later but not a full tea.

Collection Sun 12th around 14:30 in Bowley Field.

Beavers please arrive with your adult for 10am Sat 11th and activities will finish after the BBQ around 6:30pm

UPDATED Kit List
Please see recommended Kit list below, this guidelines only. (this is a generic list so please look at the qty and comments column for camp specific items)
Please ensure that you bring wet weather gear – unfortunately the forecast is not good.
Bring swimming gear as there will be a water slide
Don’t forget to bring a cake please
Sunday is the Queens official birthday – so lots of bunting and crowns please – any crown will do, inflatable, cardboard, real!! Sorry late notice but we really could do with help in providing something for this, please remember the leaders have to buy the food, firework, load gear etc.

BEAVERS

If beavers would like to go for the day – they can come along with an adult and a packed lunch! It is £8 for the day – arriving inorder to be ready for activities at 10 a.m. and home after the BBQ at approx 6:30 p.m. (BBQ is provided)

If Adults would like to join the Bar-b-q there will be a £2 contribution please

CUBS and SCOUTS
Friday night approx 6 pm till Sun around 3pm – detail timings to be confirmed

Info from District:
There will be a series of Challenges on Saturday (10am – 4 pm) with time to chill and spend time with friends, colleagues and other groups on Friday and Saturday evenings – BBQ will be provided on Saturday evening.

There will be a ‘district activity’ on Sunday morning.

The challenges will be based on teams of approximately 6 from your sections (please note – any number of participants will be catered for).
Challenges will range from a ‘Soap Box Derby/Chariot Race’ to a wellie throwing competition, from ‘walking the plank’ to ‘bomb disposal’ plus many more!”

We will finalise the cost of the camp depending upon the numbers attending but it is likely to be £30 to £35. This camp is under canvas, not in the Lodge.

We need to pay a deposit (non refundable) of £15 per attendee and need to confirm max numbers by the beginning of May.

So please deadline for deposit and confirmation is after our meeting on Monday 25th April

As normal Kit lists, permission form and home contact details will be loaded nearer the time
