As some of you are aware St Mary’s Scout Group, Clitheroe District and East Lancs are quite active in Water Sports activities and are hoping to become more involved in Kayaking, Canoeing & Sailing over the next few years.

2014 sees the Centenary of Scouting in Clitheroe, yes during 2014 we will be celebrating a 100 years of scouting in Clitheroe. St Mary’s has been integral to the development of scouting in the district, being one of the oldest groups.
Linked to this the District is having a competition to design a badge for all scouts in the district

Saturday 21 Sept and with the very kind support of Sainsbury’s in Clitheroe, St Mary Magdalene Scout Group completed 6 hours of bag packing.
With approx 10 troop members each hour, supported by a couple of leaders and willing parents during the whole time. The very generous residents of Clitheroe and Ribble Valley kindly donated just short of £600, well £590.15 …
